Management Company Accountant/Senior Controller – $400,000

Leading independent alternatives investment firm seeks Management Company Accountant/Senior Controller to report to the Chief Accounting Officer and work closely with its Chief Financial Officer, senior management, controllers, legal and compliance teams and focus primarily on the Firm’s extensive financial reporting requirements for the primary advisory entities and affiliated entities. Additionally the preferred individual will be charged with the execution of significant special projects and possess 15+ years’ experience in public/private accounting/financial reporting with significant experience with management company accounting preferably at an alternative asset manager with complex organizational structure. Necessary skills include supervisory experience overseeing the review of quarterly financial statements and related work papers for management companies, and general partner entities; and the coordination of overall financial reporting process for complex organizational structure necessary.

Expertise in the review of quarterly financial reporting related to the Firm’s bank credit facility, including covenant compliance, the review of upper tier partnership/co-investment reporting, quarterly partner NAV’s and the ability to lead ongoing implementation of process improvements and inefficiencies to maximize the functionality of the Firm’s general ledger and related systems to improve the quality and timeliness of financial reporting is required. The Senior Management Company Controller will provide perspective on the Firm’s internal controls, monitor ongoing changes in accounting practices; and work with independent auditors to ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards. Ability to review biannual partner tax estimates, execute special projects (including regulatory, tax and partner related matter) and demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organize multiple streams of work, and keep things on track while consistently meeting deadlines is desired.
